Katrina Housing Shortage?

Storm Victims

In the Times today we find many Gulf Coast residents are still waiting for temporary housing. Yet, thousands and thousands of FEMA trailers purchased for Katrina victims are sitting unused in Arkansas. The management of FEMA should be fired and replaced by any 5th-grade civics class, because I’m sure they could do a better job. This isn’t rocket science.

In fairness to FEMA, they claim they have plenty of shelters but are waiting for Louisiana officials to tell them where they can place them, after state officials have rejected sites proposed by the federal agency. Someone, I don’t know, the governor maybe? …the President? …could step in here and cut this red tape.
